Parkinson’s Awareness. Spotting the Early Signs

You may have seen, heard or read in the news that singer Carly Simon has shared a diagnosis of Parkinson’s disease, reminding us how important it is to recognise the early signs and seek help early.

Common early symptoms can include:

Tremor or slight shaking in the hands or chin

Loss of smell

Small handwriting

Sleep problems such as acting out dreams

Stiffness or slow movement

Constipation

Voice changes

Masked facial expression

Dizziness or stooping posture

If you notice these signs in yourself or someone close to you, please arrange an appointment, for assessment and support.

While Parkinson’s is a long‑term condition, advances in treatment and medication mean many people live well for years.

With the right care plan, exercise, and support, symptoms can be managed effectively and continue to live a full, active life.

Early recognition and ongoing care can make all the difference.
