We are pleased to announce that we have joined the Safe Surgeries scheme, a national initiative supporting GP practices to make healthcare more accessible, welcoming, and barrier‑free for everyone.
Safe Surgeries is a programme from Doctors of the World UK that helps practices ensure patients can register without fear, without unnecessary paperwork, and without being turned away due to immigration status, housing situation, or lack of ID. It gives staff clear guidance, training, and resources so we can confidently support people who may otherwise struggle to access care.
By becoming a Safe Surgery, we’re strengthening our commitment to inclusive, compassionate healthcare. This means:
- No ID, no address, no problem — we will help you register.
- Everyone is welcome — regardless of immigration status or documentation.
- Clear, supportive communication — especially for people facing language barriers.
- Safe access to care — without fear of data‑sharing or discrimination.
Our community includes people experiencing homelessness, insecure housing, seasonal work, financial hardship, and those new to the UK. Joining Safe Surgeries ensures they can access the care they need safely and confidently.
Beacon Medical Practice is here for everyone and Safe Surgeries helps us deliver on that promise.
