Home visits are only provided for patients who are housebound or too unwell to safely attend the practice.
If you are able to travel, you should come into the surgery, as this is where we can offer the safest and most effective care, including access to equipment, tests and treatments.
Because GP home visits are strictly limited to patients who genuinely cannot attend, please give the person you speak to clear, specific information about the patient’s condition when requesting a visit.
This helps the duty GP decide the most appropriate action, which may include a home visit, or alternatively, an urgent assessment at the practice, self‑care advice, referral or 111/999 support.
Please request any home visit as early as possible, and If a condition worsens between phoning and the estimated appointment time , please call us back for reassessment, unless the matter should require you instead to call 999 in an emergency.
