Patient Behaviour – Zero Tolerance

We committed to providing a safe, respectful and supportive environment for patients, visitors and staff.

We expect all colleagues to treat patients with courtesy, dignity and compassion, and we expect the same standard of behaviour from patients towards our team.

While the vast majority of our patients behave appropriately, any form of verbal abuse, physical aggression, harassment, intimidation or threatening behaviour towards our staff, clinicians or other patients will not be tolerated.

If such behaviour occurs, we reserve the right to ask the individual to leave the premises immediately.

We fully support the NHS Zero Tolerance policy.

Anyone who verbally or physically abuses, threatens or behaves aggressively towards any member of staff, GP, Nurse or healthcare professional, may be removed from the practice list, and the incident will be recorded in their medical record.

In serious or repeated cases, we will involve the police to ensure the safety of our team and other patients.

This policy helps us maintain a safe, calm and professional environment where our staff can focus on delivering high‑quality care for everyone.
