Beacon Medical Practice is an approved GP Teaching Practice. Dr J S Chaggar trains GP Registrars, who are fully qualified Doctors. They already have had several years’ work experience in hospitals and will be gaining further experience required to become a General Practitioner. You may be offered an appointment with our registrar doctor. We would encourage you to see the registrar. By having a registrar train with us, we often find that they bring with them a fresh approach to medicine since they are often very up-to-date with current treatments.
You may also be asked for permission for a student or trainee doctor to sit in your consultation with your Doctor or Nurse. In addition, your consultations may be video-taped for teaching purposes. This is entirely a patient choice and it is absolutely no problem if you decide not to be video-taped. Any video consultation is subject to the strictest confidence. You always will be asked to give verbal or written consent to this well before the start of your consultation. If you prefer to be seen alone, they will leave. This, of course, is absolutely acceptable and please, be reassured that whichever your decision, the care we will be providing to you will not be affected at any time.
